Green Anaconda
Eunectes murinus · Reptile
A giant water snake of slow rivers, swamps and flooded grasslands, most active in the evening, which buries itself in mud when the dry season comes. It is one of the few snakes big enough to kill a person, though no case is verified. Its fat is sold in Brazil and Peru as a remedy.
