Reindeer Lichen

Plant · Common

Soaked in wood ash to lose its bitterness, it was added to milk and other dishes, and it can flavour aquavit; the Inland Dena'ina drank it boiled against diarrhoea. Alchemists prize it as the life that winter cannot kill.
