Red Fox

Vulpes vulpes · Mammal

The red fox lives almost everywhere in the north, from forest edge and scrub to tundra, prairie, desert and mountain, and hunts mostly by night. It takes unguarded poultry and can carry rabies, but it rarely threatens a person. Its pelt is one of the great furs of the trade.
