Frankincense

Frankincense was burnt in Egyptian temples and on the altar before the Ark, and the Ebers Papyrus already lists it as a remedy; the trees are tapped two or three times a year, the last tears being the most fragrant. Alchemists burn the white tears to open a path between the altar and the heavens.
