Veinstone Metal

TTRPG Fictional · Very Rare · Timeless

Extracted from the mineralized circulatory organs of ancient colossi and titan-grade creatures, veinstone metal forms when iron-rich blood repeatedly crystallizes and re-liquefies over centuries within a living body. The extraction process requires the creature to be alive, since dead colossi yield only ordinary iron.

Lore & Narrative

Weapons made from veinstone metal heal the person holding them, slowly but measurably, pulling vitality from the ambient environment or, in extremis, from nearby living things. A veinstone sword held through a long battle will be draining vegetation within ten feet. In a siege, it drains the garrison.
