Biomes: the milieux of the world, for the table

Biomes: an atlas of the world for game masters and worldbuilders

  • A new app joins the Toolbox. Thirty-six milieux, from the taiga to the deep sea: their climate and seasons, the plants that grow there, the animals and creatures you meet there, what can be gathered or fished, the hazards on the road, and what lies beneath.
  • For the table: how the ground is crossed and how far a day goes, water and foraging, the hazards with their rules. Choose plain words, D&D 5e (SRD 5.2.1) or Pathfinder Second Edition in the menu, kilometres or miles.
  • Every page has its photograph from Wikimedia Commons, its ambiences from the MGS Audio catalogue, adventure hooks, and written encounters to roll, taken from our blog's encounter generators.
  • Fantasy: thirteen variants (cursed, blessed, haunted, fungal, crystalline, primeval with its dinosaurs, eldritch, frozen, burning and more), ten sites to explore (dungeon, crypt, ruins, sewers, a wizard's tower, the city…), twelve planes, and the world below: a fungal forest, lava tubes, crystal caverns, the abyss, with the rock's warmth as you go down.
  • A bestiary of 234 creatures of the SRD 5.2.1, each with its full stat block in English and French, its Pathfinder equivalent when Monster Core has one, its cry, often an old engraving, and the Rerum ingredients it gives.
  • An encounter for your party: give its levels and the difficulty, and Biomes builds a group of the place's creatures within the rules' own budget.
  • The expedition: a journey day by day across up to five milieux, on foot, by ship or under the ground, with its weather, its finds, its meetings sized for your party, its hazards, and a dice to redraw an event. One day for everyone, thirty with Patreon. Copy it as text or send it to Foundry.
  • A thousand reference pages in each language, linked to Rerum, Hearth and MGS Audio.

MGS Toolbox for Foundry

  • 1.7.0: Biomes comes to Foundry. A milieu, a site, a plane or a page of the world below becomes a journal entry with roll tables of its creatures and finds; an expedition becomes a journal with a page a day. Creatures link to the SRD stat blocks in a D&D 5e world and to Monster Core in a Pathfinder world.
