First described in 1987 from Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. Fewer than fifty facetable specimens are known worldwide, mostly from Myanmar. Its pale pink colour is subtle enough to pass unnoticed. Mineralogists identified specimens decades after they were first collected.
