Variety of chalcedony
Uncommon · SiO₂
A colourless to white chalcedony full of green threads of hornblende or chlorite grown in the shapes of moss and ferns; where the iron in them has oxidised, the threads turn brown or red. Called an agate by long habit, though it is not banded. It fills fissures or is picked up as pebbles.
