Modelled on the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits: the Simplon-Orient-Express from Paris to Constantinople by Lausanne, Milan, Venice, Belgrade and Sofia (three days), the Calais-Méditerranée Express of 1922, the "Train Bleu", to the Riviera, and the Taurus Express of 1930 from Istanbul towards Baghdad, its desert gap crossed by motor coach until 1940.
