Historical model

Modelled on the British-owned Buenos Aires Great Pacific Railway to Mendoza and the Transandine Railway over the Uspallata Pass to Los Andes and Valparaíso: about 36 hours from Buenos Aires with two changes of train at the breaks of gauge, twice a week, until the flood of 10 January 1934 carried away the Argentine section, not reopened until 1944. Fares are shown in sterling, the currency of the company.
